DETAIL SPECIFICATION SHEET
UNIT OR PLUG-IN ASSEMBLY IDENTIFICATION PLATE
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of
Defense.
The requirements for acquiring the product described herein shall consist of this specification
sheet and MIL-DTL-15024.
REQUIREMENTS:
Type. The identification device shall match the application, and the operational and
maintenance environments of the product it identifies. It shall be type A, G, or H.
Color Style. The color style shall comply with operational requirements. The color style
shall be III or IV.
Size. Unit or plug-in assembly identification plates shall be size 4 or smaller when space
limitations dictate.
Material. The material shall be compatible with the operational and maintenance
environments of the item to which it is attached.
Serial Number. The serial number shall be marked directly on the equipment below the unit
or plug-in assembly identification plate.
Serial number plate. When it is impractical to mark the serial number directly on the
equipment, a separate plate containing the serial number shall be permanently attached to the
equipment below the unit or plug-in assembly identification plate. The serial number plate shall be
made of the same material as the applicable unit or plug-in assembly identification plate.
