COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
SIGN
(SELF-ILLUMINATING, EXIT)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers self-illuminating exit signs.
2. CLASSIFICATION
2.1 Classification. The signs shall be of the following type and background color, as specified (see 7.4).
Type A- single face
Type B- double face
Background color:
1- red
2- green
3- black
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
3.1 Design. Signs shall be in accordance with UL 924.
3.1.2 Hardware. The exit signs shall be furnished with all mounting hardware.
3.2 Construction. Signs shall be constructed in accordance with UL 924.
