COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
REFLECTOR SET, HIGHWAY WARNING, TRIANGULAR
The General Services Administration has authorized the
use of this commercial item description, for all
federal agencies.
1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers triangular warning devices designed for storage in motor vehicles and used to warn approaching traffic of the presence of a stopped vehicle.
1.2 Classification. The warning devices shall be furnished in the following sets, as specified:
Set 1 – One warning device
Set 2 – Two warning devices
Set 3 – Three warning devices
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Description. Each warning shall be an equilateral triangle. Each warning device shall comply with the requirements of FMVSS No. 125 (49 CFR Part 571.125). the warning device shall be permanently and legibly marked with the symbol DOT, or the statement that the warning device complies with FMVSS No. 125.
2.1.1 Dimensions. Sides shall be not less than 17 inches nor more than 22 inches long.
2.1.2 Color. The warning device shall be on accordance with FMVSS No. 125.
